Team Resources – Recycling Updates

Sustainability Mountain!

Mt, Hood Meadows and Cooper Spur do a great job of recycling.  Our efforts conserve resources and help divert huge amounts from our garbage.  We transport each recyclable commodity off the mountain to the best place in our local area to recycle it.  We need your help!  The Sustainability Department and Janitorial Staff ask that you pitch in with the sorting rather than just dropping off what your department collects.  We can do this together!

Clear bags – Please collect and bring your recycling to the Waste Management Center (WMC) in CLEAR PLASTIC BAGS.  If you have multiple types of recycling in one bag, take the time to sort the items from the bag to the places that they go in the WMC.  The Janitorial staff can’t keep up with their jobs and process everything that comes to the WMC for recycling.

We have a place in the WMC for:

White Paper

Mixed Paper – includes lightly used food packaging and paper cups, aseptic cartons and milk cartons.

Cardboard

Tin cans

#1, #2, and #5 plastic – Other plastics should go in the garbage compactor

Styrofoam

Thin plastic film – like empty garbage bags and packaging

Air filled packing materials – like bubble wrap and packing pillows

Bamboo, Batteries, Printer Cartridges, E-Waste, Glass, Light bulbs, Small to medium sized metal objects, and Aerosol cans.

If you need help, or have questions, please contact Steve King at steveking@skihood.com or x1303

If you or your team would like more instructions on how to bring your recycling and sort it at the WMC, we can set up a time that works best for you to show you how it works.
